Background Restriction
This step taken by Apple will surely let the Facebook redesign their algorithms and messaging applications. Further, it will have the worst effect on WhatsApp as well. For instance, a user makes a WhatsApp call, and can easily scroll through Facebook or play a game. But now, it is not possible with iOS 13. The user has to open WhatsApp to make a call. The background assess restriction is not limited to WhatsApp or Facebook, it also includes all the applications which run in the background e.g Line, Telegram or Skype. Thus, they too have to redesign their apps.
Facebook – The Rule Breaker
According to the report, Facebook was breaking the rules as it gathered user data and gave it to non-employees as a part of paid campaign activity. A threat to user’s privacy. This is hilarious. A Facebook representative said iOS 13’s major concern is user privacy. It includes the functionality of one-time location sharing. It also includes the “Sign in with Apple” feature. Apple got positive remarks from many organizations.
Privacy – A Major Concern
The latest privacy rules are the fight-openers for Apple and Facebook. Apple removed Facebook’s certificate for its developer program in January. It found that FaceBook views people’s movement. Apple has taken a great step for its users. I hope other smartphone companies will take it into account and also provide security to their users.
